The Quick Slant: Week 2

Buttonhookers bounce back!?

After a disappointing week 1 loss to cross town rivals, London Rebels. The Buttonhookers came back with a vengeance this week, slaying the Lions, Panthers & Sharks, scoring over 150 points across the three games. However, the defence did let up 55 points… but this is also the premiership, in the SEC. However, the Vince Machi led offence looked incredible once again, and we imagine they’ll be looking to maintain this form. Taylor Ray has been a force for the Buttonhookers, with less attention being on him with the offseason addition of GB speedster, Michael Bradley-Banski.

The Trojans mount a charge on South West!

The Tydfil Trojans surged up our power rankings this past week, and rightfully so. They’re now sat unbeaten and a top of the division after a 54-26 demolition of the preseason favourite, Exeter Falcons. The power of Chris Soanes and mental awareness of Richard Harris has been essential to the Trojans, but thats without the mention of the quarterbacking of Alex Thomas who’s back after missing week one. The Trojans also brushed aside the Celts on the weekend, right now, they look unstoppable in the South. It’ll be interesting to see when they have to play the London Smoke in the future as it’ll be a great benchmark for them.

Relegation watch is now LIVE!

After only two weeks of football, the league has started to separate its self. Something, no one saw was the demise of the Birmingham Lions. The Lions have fallen to 0-5 in the SWC division of the Premiership, with the SEC having the Chichester Sharks as the other Prem South 0-5 team. The Sharks will look to their cross conference games to pick up a few points, or they could be looking at relegation already. In Scotland, the Comets and Outlaws will battle it out to avoid the drop, as both teams are conceding an average of over 45 points conceded a game. The Comets’ experienced players will already recognised how big a game v the Outlaws will be in the return fixture.

Worldwide Dukes?!

The U.K. Dukes will be flying over to New York to compete in the American Flag Football League. The league’s final will be streamed live on NFL network, and has a huge cash prize of $1,000,000 to accompany this. Not only that, but the league has teams of players compromising of Michael Vick, Chad Ochocinco and even NBA stars such as Matt Barnes. The Dukes have created a team full of established European flag stars, such as German QB, Benjamin Klever and Danish WR, Jakob Espersen.
